I haven't had a chance to participate in the Impression Obsession Challenges for a little while, but today I'm entering into their 'Happy Fall Y'all' challenge. This card is a little different than my previous Fall themed designs that had a lot of orange, red & browns. October in Ontario was so beautiful this year, the colours were especially gorgeous. Sadly our leaves are all down but we've enjoyed time raking in the cool Fall air.
Impression Obsession Stamps: Cover a Card Flourishes CC027, Starflowers 3066-LG, Hydrangea Leaf H8466, All Seasons C3534 (quote)
Dies: Crealies CL CS 02 (flourishes)
I started with adding Dried Marigold and Scattered Straw Distress Ink using the Acrylic Block technique on the background. Next I inked up the Hydrangea Leaf with Boysenberry Colorbox pigment ink and 'stamp-kissed' the leaf with the Flourish CAC and then again several times using Colorbox Chianti ink.
The Hydrangea Leaf is a great solid stamp that I "had to have" after being inspired by cards at Miranda's Blog using it. When I won the $25 shopping from IO at a previous challenge, I included it in my order.
I stamped & embossed one of the starflowers from the set twice with black, colored with my Tom Bow markers and cut them out and layered with Flourishes Die cuts.
Thanks for your visit and have a great day !

Now that is stunning, Shirley. I have that set and you have really done it justice!! I love the colors and your background is a work of art too! Thank you so much for playing and good luck in the drawing too!!
This is one gorgeous card! Love the colours and your amazing background!
This one is equally beautiful Shirley (as you can guess I'm working in reverse) and yet more lovely vibrancy of colour.

Was für eine bezaubernde Karte, die Farben sind ein Traum!!!
This is gorgeous Shirley, I can see why you had to have the leaf stamp, I've just added it to my wish list, it make a super stamp for backgrounds. There are some lovely shades of autumn in this card, it a shame that its all coming to an end, hopefully there will not be much snow this year.

I agree, a rockin' stunning, yet warm card! Fabulous fall card! Purple is hard to capture purple. Have a fabulous weekend Shirley. i am still in awe of your canvas~WOWZA!
When the reader opens new posts, I can usually tell your cards, Shirley, just by the signature colors and intricate backgrounds - always so soulful. How beautiful! I can see why you had to have that hydrangea leaf image! We don't have much color change in Florida during the autumn. Some trees lose their leaves. Living in an oak hammock, most of the leaves turn a drab green- to olive and cling until the end of February. Then all is vibrant again. Beautiful Autumn colors!
Stunning card Shirley. I love how you use colours. Just about lost all the leaves on the nearby beech wood. Beautiful whilst it last!

Great autumn background, love the stamp-kissed leaves! And I love the purple with it as well. You always seem to have wonderful sentiments and I always lack them on my cards. Ha! Really wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
