Christmas Magic with Ryn's Ornament Faerie

Hello everyone !   I hope you are enjoying the week.   It's a beautiful sunny & cool day here, I'm heading out to garden shortly I have a lot to do outside at this time of year.  I enjoy it so much more in the crisp air.

I created another card using Designs by Ryn's beautiful Ornament Faerie.    I love her Holly wings and her gorgeous ornament.    I thought that Ornament Faerie should be with a Christmas Tree and I didn't have a tree image the right size.   However, one of my kind crafty friends gave me a nice set of Spellbinder Dies that include triangle pendants.  (Thanks again Cathy !)   She mentioned using them to create Christmas tree for cards, so I thought I would give it a try and this is what I came up with.

I  have trouble capturing the true colour when using purple, the actual card is more vibrant.

I used the large triangle die with white cardstock and then coloured with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink using the Acrylic Block Technique.   Next I stamped over the 'tree' with an Evergreen Branch stamp with Shabby Shutters & Peeled Paint DI and then blended more Peeled Paint around the edges.

I embossed the Faerie with Black (twice) and then coloured with Tombows using a brush & water.   I cut her out and then just the wings on the 2nd image.  I added a 2nd layer of wings for dimension.  I used holograph glitter on her fur trim, the ornament and layered as shown.    I found the green dotted page (Graphic 45) & green textured paper in my stash.

If you get a chance, please hop over to Eileen's Blog, she has created a fabulous tag using Ryn's beautiful Kelp Stamp.

Thanks for your visit, it's appreciated !
Have a great day,

Hi Shirley, lovely fairy card and I always love the combi of purple and green! Maybe you can change the colours with a setting on your camera, like natural/cool/vivid/warm or you can certainly change them in a photo enhance program like Lunapic.com, I used that and you can change colours separately or with colour saturation.....(you can always ask me in a mail)
warm greet Mirandaxx

Outstanding! I don't know what I like the best -- those gorgeous 3D wings, the very imaginative and well done Christmas tree, or that lovely ornament. All together this card is amazing!

Popped over from Eileen's Blog, I know her personally and I continually follow her creations. I really like what you have done with this card and the dotted paper works so well. I am not a crafter myself but love seeing what others do, shall call again soon. x

Wow, Shirley. Only you can make bright colors look soft and ethereal!

I can't even imagine the work you are doing in the garden now. Pictures?

(BTW, Thanks for your fun comment on my post today. I didn't do a picture of the bridemaids' dresses b/c there are only two photos: Unfortunately, in one the two girls were crouched down putting on my garter (?) and in the other wide shot of the whole group, you can't see the detail on the dresses, and I don't have permission of the whole bridal party to put their pictures in, so I just went with what was best. OMG, typing this I just remembered that I got back one of those blue bridemaid dresses and I could still fit in it a few years ago and I wore it as ANOTHER Halloween costume ... now if I can only find that photo - stay tuned to my blog - and thank you. Too funny! LOL!!!)

Hey Shirley, I think your idea for the tree works wonderfully! It is neat to see the ornament faerie with a tree. Love your colouring job and I agree with Miranda, I like the combo of purple and green as well :)

This is gorgeous Shirley and a great idea for creating a Christmas tree and the fairy looks lovely on this one. I like the fir tree branch you've used in the background, some of the ones that I've seen look so heavy, this one looks delicate.
