Celtic Stars with Watercolour

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great week.     I'm still busy working out in the gardens whenever I have free time and making progress.    I'm also going through lots of Epsom Salts in baths to ease the aching muscles :)

I created another card for Designs by Ryn using her Celtic Star Set.   For this card I used just one of the three stars in the set and had fun playing with the backgrounds.  Different colours again for Christmas !

I think there is enough pink in this card to join the In the Pink Challenge (criteria- use dry or wet embossing).   There are so many beautifully pink creations by the DT & participants if you have time to visit.

I embossed the stars with gold on the first background and then blended Picked Raspberry & Broken China Inks over top.  I sprayed water and added salt and set it aside to dry.    On the second background I used 443 & 679 Tombow markers and also sprayed with water & added salt.  I left both to dry.

I stamped Peace & Joy from a lovely Penny Black Sentiment set - Christmas Cheer.   I also stamped another star & embossed with black and blended Broken China Distress Ink over it, cut it out & attached as shown.  I also added pink & purple half pearls.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest the week !

I agree with the other comments about your colours. They are beautiful! Love the backgrounds that you made for this card separated by that purple border. Also love the one star that you decided to cut out. Your "non-traditional" Christmas cards really are wonderful Shirley :)Great job with my stamps again!!!

This is stunning Shirley, I love the colours in both the backgrounds and as you say it looks as though there is enough pink to enter the challenge. I really like the celtic stars and they have just been added to my wish list.

Hope you week is going well and you're not over doing the gardening.

Fabulous spritzing and inking as always Shirley - the colours are wonderful, and there is definitely enough pink (and embossing) for this week's challenge at ITP! Thank you so much for joining us again - hope we will see you next time too!

Boy, we really were channeling each other yesterday weren't we?! I guess you know I love your colors! I'm so glad you stopped by my blog and saw me getting inky over here!

You reminded me that I've heard of this salt technique before, but I've never tried. It is really stunning and I'm making note ...

(Too bad there wasn't a "salt" challenge for you on this one > you used salt on your paper and salt in your bath!)

check out the website of Alma Stoller..from there is my inspiration - she made ist with soapboxes..and Tim Coffey made another variation with a hot glue gun shown on You tube..so i combined both ideas to make it absolt good for me.

Those Celtic stars are wonderful!! I've a real fondness for all things Celtic:) I just commented on the above post thinking that looked kind of like rock salt, and you did use it on this background!
